The line "There are no pacts between lions and men" ?

You wanna know where in the Iliad it is? As far as I know, it's in the translation by Samuel Butler, book 22, line 260. He says: "There can be no covenants between men and lions, wolves and lambs can never be of one mind, but hate each other out and out an through."

Kennedy is right about the Butler translation (mine is the same one). It must have been modernized for the film.

In Homer it is:

ούκ έστι λέουσι και άνδρασιν όρκια πιστά
(Exact translation: There are for lions and men no sure oaths.)

Hey Nickel, would it be possible to get the whole sentence in Homer, in lower and upper case ''There can be no covenants between men and lions, wolves and lambs can never be of one mind, but hate each other out and out an through.'' Can only find the first sentance for the translation by you.

And what would the exact translation be perhaps? Thanks so much in advance...
