Courage can be translated in Greek as "κουράγιο", a word derived from Italian coraggio and the Latin cor, which is derived from the Greek word for "heart" (καρδία, καρδιά).

Even in a forum devoted to ancient Greek, this observation on the derivation of the modern Greek noun κουράγιο is an important comment.  Italian coraggio does indeed go back to Latin cor, and the Latin word is cognate (related) with the Greek word for "heart" (and, indeed, with the English word heart) through their common ancestor in Proto-Indoeuropean.  Among many other etymological authorities, see Pierre Chantrain, Dictionnaire étymologique de la langue grecque  s.v. καρδία:
