Substituted for almost any swear word
(popularised in UK by the TV series Red Dwarf).
'Smeg' may come from 'smegma,' a whitish sebaceous secretion that collects between the glans penis and foreskin or in the vulva. 'Smegma' comes from the Greek 'smekhein,' to wash off.
