Μια άλλη απόδοση: taste is subjective (
https://www.google.gr/#hl=el&sclient=psy-ab&q=%22taste+is+subjective%22&oq=%22taste+is+subjective%22&gs_l=hp.12..0i30j0i7i30l2j0i7i10i30.5000.8954.1.11157.2.2.0.0.0.0.203.391.0j1j1.2.0...0.0...1c.GBtPUQG8zn0&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=a744b4fe7d90e1ae&biw=1280&bih=569
).
Ανάλογη είναι η φράση "beauty is in the eye of the beholder (βλ.

Of course, that would be both polite and "politically correct;" unfortunately, "to each his own" is both ancient and proverbial, from a time when both "her" and "their" were subsumed under the masculine form.

I agree. The same happens in Greek. For example, an equivalent expression is "καθένας με τα γούστα του". The word "ανθρωπος" includes both sexes.
