Site downtime

There was a hard drive failure at the server 2 days ago. We apologise for the down time. As a result some messages posted during the short intermittent "up" periods have been lost.

This is the host's announcement:

We were informed by our technicians earlier today that the main hard drive has stopped functioning. They have and are currently working on repairing the hard drive.

All of your data should be safe on our off-site backup server. We'll update this information as it comes in, but everything should be in place as far as HTML pages and MySQL databases go.

No action is needed by yourself, and we will be ensuring all accounts are safe.

Unfortunately this is an unforeseen problem, and we are dealing with it as best we can, as quickly as we can.

There have been repeated downtimes the last 3-4 days. I am sorry for the inconvenience. All I can do is report it asap to the host, which I do. Apart from that I can change host, (for the third time!) but still, there is never a guarantee!
