Multiterm error when using Select Termbase from Word's MultiTerm Menu: (-2147467261): (null)
Admittedly, (-2147467261): (null) is hardly an informative error message.
Deleting MultiTerm template file (MultiTerm7.dot) as well as Normal.dot did not help one bit, much to my chagrin.
This error baffled me for quite some time. For some reason, although MultiTerm worked perfectly displaying matches in Workbench, it would not connect through the Word menu, thus I was not able to add terms through Word.
The solution is simple:
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Trados\MultiTerm and delete the file MultiTerm7dot.xml. (Make sure you replace [User Name] with your actual user name, in my case it was USER).
