geht mit mir ohne Ungeduld und Eile,
als wär ich nie gewesen oder kaum.
   
I go slowly hence from the world
Into a domain beyond all distance,
And what I was and am and shall remain
Goes with me hasteless and forebearing
Into a country 'til yet untrod

I go slowly hence from time
Into a future beyond the stars,
And what I was and am and ever shall remain
Goes with me hasteless and forebearing,
As though I'd not, or scarcely, ever been.
