Title: Συναλλαγματικές έκδοσης του πωλητή
Post by: valr on 17 Nov, 2005, 16:02:58
Καλημερα!
Could anyone confirm the meaning of the above? The full sentence is "Να αποδεχονται συναλλαγματικες εκδοσης του πωλητη η του οποιου δικαιουχου του τιμηματος για το υπολοιπο η ολο το τιμημα."
The person "accepting" the draft has power of attorney for the buyer - I would have expected any draft to be issued by the buyer as the one who is paying, but this seems to suggest it is being issued by the seller.
Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Val

Admin note: Val please use Capital letter for first word and proper accents.

I suppose the seller issues the drafts that are to be signed by the buyer / payer. It is not a mistake, because after all it is followed by the beneficiary, which is another word for the payee, i.e. the seller. If the word "issued" sounds wrong in English in this context, you might use "presented".

Many thanks, nickel. I like your suggestion to use "presented" rather than "issued".
Will use accents in future, Spiros - αλλά δεν υπόσχομαι ότι θα είναι πάντα σωστόι!
