Yes, language seems to have become far less precise, and far more arbitrary and sloppy, since the advent of the Internet.  Meanwhile, grammar is no longer taught in the schools, and in many other ways people are less and less interested in doing justice to their thoughts, or in logical thinking and writing in general.  The mind is freer now to fantasize incoherently.  I feel this is all connected somehow with the growing (and frightening) impact of conspiracy theories on political life.
