I doubt that you'll ever find
quod
before
confer
in an actual text, because
confer
(cf. = "see [something]") always refers to what
follows
, whereas
quod vide
(q.v. = "which see") always refers to what
precedes
.

Well, I found it as a reference in Pape's dictionary :)
w.m.s welches man sehe (q.v.)
w.m.vgl welches man vergleiche (q.cf.)

Can't argue with Pape. But I wish we could put up "cf.,
confer
" by itself, since its independent use (without
quod
) is by far the most common.

Amazing. I searched for both "cf." and "confer" from this thread, but came up with nothing. I must be doing something wrong.
