Και για να υποστηρίξω την άποψή μου ότι πρόκειται για διάκριση που κάνει το Ισλάμ, ιδιού από σελίδα της αιγυπτιακής κυβέρνησης:
Islam preaches that a man is a man and a woman is a woman.
Each is a separate independent entity. When they come together to form a cohesive family structure, each is assigned certain duties and acquires other definite rights. A man and a woman make one family.
They complement each other. But a woman is not equal to a man except, perhaps in the workplace as they both are seen as just two employees.
Under Islam, a man is the breadwinner for his family.
The woman is to care for her husband and her household.
The woman is hence the crowned princess of the family.
She is the emotional and defence shield for the whole family. A woman is not denied the right to hold an outside job.
But under conditions. A wife, as long as she performs her family duties well, can go for an outside job, but after only getting her husband's consent and in agreement that she will preserve piety.
Members of the Muslim community believe, however, that a woman who brings up a family well and produces two or three good citizens is better than another who is doing well in an outside job and leaves her children to become failures. Then, who will bring up good citizens for a strong society?.
Muslims believe also that an efficient housewife, who perhaps holds a successful professional career outside the family horizon is equal to and perhaps more fruitful than a wife who is successful at work and a failure at home. Bringing up a good family is eyed as a tough and more important job.
