«Το πικρό ποτήρι» του Κώστα Καπλάνη / ερμηνεία Μαίρη Λίντα, στίχοι;

I have this note about η Μαίρη Λίντα:- Το 1961 στο Φεστιβάλ Τραγουδιού Θεσσαλονίκης πήρε το Α' βραβείο με το τραγούδι « Απαγωγή». Πρωτοεμφανίστηκε στη δισκογραφία με το τραγούδι του Κώστα Καπλάνη «Πικρό ποτήρι»..

I can only find a very poor 78 recording which is unintelligible. Nowhere can I find the lyrics to this song & there are many other songs with a similar title which have nothing to do with η Μαίρη Λίντα. In the light of her subsequent glittering musical career, it seems strange that the lyrics of this, her first song, seem to be nowhere obtainable.

Clearly there is a two-syllable word inaudible in the lacuna. In the light of the subsequent syntax & meaning, can anyone supply a possible word to fill the gap? Then I can, as it were, put the song to bed! :)

Just a translation request: does κι ούτε λαχτάρα μεγαλύτερη θα πάρω mean 'and I shall not even get a greater yearning'? It doesn't seem to make all that much sense in context.

In this στροφή I've been asked by a friend what the train of thought is:-
Ήπια ποτήρια σαν κι αυτά
απ’ άλλων χέρια δυνατά, γι’ αυτό στοχάσου:
φυλάξου απ’ την κακοτοπιά [beware of the treacherous ground]
μην τα ξανακεράσεις πια [don't ever buy them a drink again]
σε κάτι ανδρείκελα που θα ’χεις.

Is the singer saying that she has had bad experiences with tough guys before, so that the man who has jilted her, if he serves up free drinks like this, will pay for it in the future, because the stooges will make him suffer for his heartlessness? Κακοτοπιά seems a strange word meaningwise in this context. I think a lot hinges on exactly what this word means.

What you say about the treacherous ground is correct. Then "μην τα ξανακεράσεις πια" has nothing to do with real drinks but she wants/prompts him not to do the same things again and again to other people.

No need to pay too much attention to every single word and this song is for sure not one of the best Kaplanis has written as far as the lyrics are concerned.

Sophia Vembo. :)
