TERESA8:
Hello!
Context: "ΘΕΣΗ=Ο.Τ. 78 ΟΙΚ.7"
What does the O.T stand for?
Context: "ΟΔΟΣ=ΥΠ’ ΑΡΙΘΜ 79"
What does the ΥΠ’ bit stand for?
This sort of thing is not in any of my dictionaries. Is there a publication that lists them?
Grateful for your help!
Teresa
spiros:
Just ignore the ΥΠ, it is just a formal way to say number.
wings:
Τhat's right: "ΥΠ' ΑΡΙΘΜ." literally means "under number..." so just say "Number".
I am afraid we need more context for your first query.
TERESA8:
Just to let you all know that WINGS kindly sorted this out for me as follows - this for other struggling with acronyms!!
"O.T., now that you mentioned "block" is "Οικοδομικό Τετράγωνο" (block of buildings)."
