I have read what nikel has posted. I understand that some phrase can not be translated into ancient greek. I respect that too.
But I really need to translate this phrase. It is a phrase a guy i met in the church said. And it has kept me going when I was about to give up on everything.
He said the phrase was in ancient greek. I learn to say it but dont know how to write it. It means "Life is short, follow your heart". If anyone could translate it in ancient greek writing, it will be appriciated.

Corinthians 1, Chapter 7, verses 29-31

29 τούτο δέ φημί, αδελφοί, ο καιρός συνεσταλμένος εστίν[/size]. το λοιπόν ίνα και οι έχοντες γυναίκας ως μη έχοντες ώσιν, 30 και οι κλαίοντες ως μη κλαίοντες, και οι χαίροντες ως μη χαίροντες, και οι αγοράζοντες ως μη κατέχοντες, 31 και οι χρώμενοι τον κόσμον ως μη καταχρώμενοι. παράγει γαρ το σχημα του κόσμου τούτου.

/7-29- BUT THIS I SAY BRETHREN
THE TIME IS SHORT- IT REMAINETH THAT BOTH THEY THAT HAVE WIVES BE AS THOUGH THEY HAD NONE

AS THOUGH THEY WEPT NOT AND THEY THAT REJOICE
AS THOUGH THEY REJOICED NOT AND THEY THAT BUY
AS THOUGH THEY POSSESSED NOT
/7-31- AND THEY THAT USE THIS WORLD
AS NOT ABUSING IT- FOR THE FASHION OF THIS WORLD PASSETH AWAY.

As you can see, the Bible does not mention your exact phrase, but only "Time is short", which in Ancient Greek was:
ο καιρός συνεσταλμένος εστίν[/size].

Well, if you remember the phrase this person told you in Greek, we can help you out. Otherwise, I see no point why we should create an Ancient Greek phrase to fit this context.

We can always use Modern Greek, which gives more alternatives.

It will be great if you can help. I do understand some phrase cannot be traslated or might not even be the same meaning.
Unfortunetly I donot speak greek and I only know the sound of what he said.
Can you translate the phrase in greek and still have the same meaning as english?

He was comparing the difficulties encountered in learning the art of medicine with the shortness of human life.
