  • Words ail me.
From Philo of Alexandria (first cent.), That the Worse is Wont to Attack the Better 13 (Ch. V init.). Colson & Whitaker translation (Philo Loeb vol. 2): [After quoting patriarchs in Genesis] If, Ο my understanding, thou searchest on this wise into the oracles which are both words of God and laws given by men whom God loves, thou shalt not be compelled to admit anything base or unworthy of their dignity. So ἱεροφαντηθέντας could be translated "oracular."
I don't know where LSJ are getting their λογισμοὺς θεοῦ. Both your Garcia Pinto text and the Colson-Whitaker text have λόγους θεοῦ. Λογισμός is "calculation," not "word."
