Title: Wordfast Classic and Kubuntu (Linux)
Post by: Vion on 06 May, 2013, 18:23:10
So I've been using Kubuntu 12.10 LTS for a while now and am extremely enthusiastic about it. Even to the point of abandoning Windows altogether in its favour. Only one thing holds me back and that is my lack of success in getting Wordfast Classic to work. I've been able to install MS Word (Office 2000, Office XP, 2003, or 2007) under WINE or under Crossover, but the Wordfast macro just won't install or run at all. (I can get the toolbar by placing in the STARTUP folder - but that crashes Word with an 'invalid macro' error).
I've also tried Anaphraseus in Open Office / Libre Office - but it always produces program errors and crashes for me -works perfectly on the first segment, but crashes when progressing to to the second segment of a text (does the same thing on Windows too).
I'm out of ideas as to how to fix it - have the latest version of JRE and all should be well, only it isn't.
-any ideas greatly appreciated :-)
