Using the Export Function to Create a Backup
The most secure method to create a backup of your translation memory is to completely export the data to an external text file.
Note: The Export command is subject to access restrictions. When working with file-based translation memories, the Export command is only available when you open the translation memory in exclusive access mode. When working with server-based translation memories, the Export command is only available when you have TM Administrator or TM Server Administrator access rights.
To create a backup by exporting data to an external file:
Open the translation memory for which you want to create a backup.
From the File menu, choose Export. The Export dialog box is displayed.
Assuming that you wish to create a backup for the entire translation memory, click Reset to clear any existing settings from the Constraints list in the Export dialog box. (To back up part of the translation memory only, you must define constraints settings).
Click OK to confirm the absence of constraints settings. The Create Export File dialog box is displayed.
Specify a location and a name for the export file and click Save. To overwrite an existing export file, double-click its name in the file list.
Translator's Workbench begins exporting and displays progress information on the status bar. When completed, Translator's Workbench displays the total number of translation units that were exported.
Και προσθέτω: πριν το Έξπορτ, κάνε μια αναδιοργάνωση της μνήμης σου (Reorganize). Επίσης κάνε αναδιοργάνωση αφού κάνεις Import σε μια άδεια μνήμη στο λάπτοπ σου (στη βοήθεια θα βρεις πλρφ και για το πώς γίνεται το Ιμπορτ :-)
