Note that the word "μαγέρικο" can be translated as taverna or restaurant as well. This so called cooking house, named most probably after the surname or nickname of its owner or founder (Delivorias-Δεληβοριάς) has nothing to do with delicatessen, as one of the respondents suggested). This affix to numerous surnames in Greece is of Turkish origin and means  “crazy”, in that particular case Δεληβοριάς  means “crazy (violent) north wind”.
