The architectural school was in a building housing a number of other related disciplines and had become a well-respected institution. There was still a fairly conservative approach to teaching: For history of architecture a lecturer would come in and draw on the board an immaculate representation of the floor plan of the Temple of Khons, Karnak, which we were expected to copy, just as they had been doing for 30 years. However, the school had recently introduced the idea of peripatetic lecturers, and played host to some visiting architects who were on the frontline of new ideas, including Eldred Evans, Norman Foster and Richard Rodgers. The faculty clearly had a good eye for form.

Σημαίνει «ήξερε να διακρίνει τις μορφές» (όπως λέμε «μορφές και σχήματα»). Αλλά παίζει και σαν λογοπαίγνιο.

Σε θέματα φόρμας πήγαινε το μάτι τους.

Πρόταση: ''...διέκρινε με ξεχωριστό/μοναδικό τρόπο τις φόρμες και τα πρότυπα.''

Για μένα το λογοπαίγνιο είναι ανάμεσα στο form = μορφές κλπ και form = good shape, good track record (cf "be on form"), and "track record" in the sense of good qualifications, experience, and ability - as a prospective employer might judge a job applicant on their "track record", δηλ past successes and achievements.  The context, that the faculty was inviting these people as guest lecturers, supports this view.

100% συμφωνώ γι αυτο πρότεινα το "σε θέματα φόρμας". Επίσης έχει δίκιο στη διόρθωσή του το φυντάνι (ή μήπως γουιδάνι ;) :-)
