Ὑγεία, βροτοῖσι πρεσβίστα μακάρων, μετὰ σοῦ ν<αί>-
<ε>ιν τὸ λειπόμενον | βίου· σὺ δέ μοι πρόφρων
ξυ<ν>είη<ς>. | <εἰ> δ’ αὖθις ἢ πλούτου χάρι<ς> ἢ τεκέ-
ων, | <εἰ> δ’ αὖθις εὐδαίμονος ἀ<ν>θρώπο<ι>ς βασιλη-
ίδος ἀρχᾶς ἢ π<όθω>ν, | <οὓς> ζυγίης Ἀφροδείτας ἕλ-
κεσι θηρεύομεν· | <εἰ> δέ τις ἄλλα θεόθεν ἀν-
θρώποισι τέρψι<ς> ἢ πόνων ἀ<μπν>οὰ <π>έ<φ>αν-
ται, | μετὰ <σ>ῖ<ο>, μάκ<αιρ’> Ὑγεία, | τέθαλε καὶ [λάμ]-
πει Χαρίτων ὄα[ρ]ο[ι]· | σέθεν [δὲ χωρὶς οὔτις]
εὐδαίμων ἔφυ.

Health, the first of blessed gods for mortals, with you
may I dwell for the rest of my lifetime, and may you be
gracious to me;
for if there is any delight in riches, or in children,
or in the royal power that makes man’s fortune match the
gods’, or in the longings
we hunt down with Aphrodite’s secret snares,
or if any other heaven-sent delight for mortals or respite
from toils has been revealed,
it is because of you, blessed Health,
that it flowers and shines in the talk of the Graces;
apart from you is no man happy.
