Apparently the only testimonium in ancient Greek is Georgius Cedrenus (8th cent. historiographer), who writes (2.79.15 Bekker) νύκτα κατατηρήσας συνοδικήν, lit. "having taken advantage of a conjunctive night," which Immanuel Bekker in 1839 helpfully explained in Latin as nocte usus, qua luna ob suum cum sole coitum non lucet, "using the night on which the moon does not shine because of its conjunction with the sun."
