How to find the green symbol (<<) produced by Fix Document
on:
28 Nov, 2011, 20:32:48
OS: Win 7
App: Word 2007
CAT: Trados 2007
Error in Workbench
The <}n{> mark for delimiting source and target is missing or damaged
Action in Word
Ctrl + A and Fix Document
Problem
The fix document command produces some green symbols (<<). How can I find them in a colourful word text consisting of 128 pages.
Any trick?

The green symbol has a specific Trados style. Put the cursor in the symbol and check out the style. Then do a Find all for the specific style having checked the highlight option. More detailed instructions depend on your Word version (which you omitted to mention).

...depend on your Word version.
Already mentioned - App: Word 2007

If I knew where the symbol is in my 128-pages doc, I wouldn't ask for help in the forum:-)
That's what I'm looking for: how to locate this symbol!
Thanks Spiros

Or search for the Style: tw4winError

Use Find, then in Find section at the bottom of the dialog click Format, then click Style, scroll the styles down. There should be Trados styles starting from tw. If there are errors in the document there should also be the tw4winError style.

Word has finished searching the document. The search item was not found.

Did you scroll the styles down in the dialog? Did you see any other Trados styles? This is a step prior to executing a Find operation.

tw4winError is there. You need to select it and with changing Reading Highlight to Highlight All it will find all instances.

Try finding another style like tw4winExternal, tw4winInternal, tw4winMark. Does it find them?

Then there are no more (?) instances of tw4winError. If still unconvinced, email me the file to check.

It does not appear to exist. If it causes clean up issues, I would recommend importing the source file in TagEditor or Studio, and using the same TM to pretranslate.
