Translation blunder: it's a big-ass sky → ο ουρανός είναι χοντρόκωλος

ALPHA, 7/1/2021, Armageddon (1998)

President: We didn't see this thing coming?
Dan: Well, our object collison budget's about a million dollars. That allows us to track about 3% of the sky, and beg'n your pardon sir, but it's a big-ass sky.

Serious stylistically, in the sense of a literal translation of an idiom producing non-existent and awkward target language colocation.

  • Words ail me.
I meant it's not a serious illustration of an authentic blunder, but instead a translator's effort "to justify the 'beg'n your pardon sir' by using a literal translation of an idiomatic superlative."
