Για δώσε περισσότερες πληροφορίες, γιατί αυτά στην Ελλάδα υπάγονται συνήθως στα ΚΕΣ (Κέντρα Ελεύθερων Σπουδών).

Γενική περιγραφή νομικού προσώπου και ο όρος ναι περιλαμβάνει τα Κέντρα Ελευθέρων Σπουδών.

Και στην ιστοσελίδα που προτείνει ο Σπύρος πριν μπει κανείς στο link του συγκεκριμένου ινστιτούτου περιγράφεται το νομικό καθεστώς και ο όρος-ομπρέλα των "ιδιωτικών" πανεπιστημίων (ήτοι αυτό που περιγράφει το καταστατικό που κάνω) ως εξής:

Private universities are prohibited by the Greek constitution. Any private higher education institutions that exist operate with a different legal status (e.g. as Educational Centers, or as branches of foreign universities, or with the method of franchising).

Αυτό πώς το βλέπετε;
Γιατί το Laboratory of Liberal Studies ακούγεται εξαιρετικά εξειδικευμένο.

Το LLS είναι ελληνική πατέντα και ίσως πρέπει να κουβαλά, όπου πάει, αυτή την ιδιόμορφη απόδοσή του (κάτι σαν τη feta και το tzatziki).

Under the Greek constitution, higher education is the exclusive responsibility of the state and may be provided only by state institutions. However, legislation permits private companies offering post-school education to exist as 'Laboratories of Liberal Studies' (LLS), registered with the Ministry of Commerce. LLS offer a wide range of academic programmes, primarily in response to market needs. As businesses, they are free to establish links with higher education providers overseas. Their programmes are not recognised officially by the Greek state, however, and qualifications awarded by overseas institutions on the basis of a programme of study (or any part of a programme) at an LLS are not recognised in Greece for the purposes of public sector employment.

Centres of Liberal Studies (EES): About 30 private organizations called Centres of Liberal Studies (EES) provide postsecondary education; some are affiliated with foreign universities. Under a 1935 law, these organizations operate as commercial enterprises. As such, they fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce rather than the Ministry of Education, an organizational position that causes some skepticism about the quality of the education they provide.

Applying the organizational structure of foreign universities, some EES have set up courses of two, three, and sometimes four years. In these cases the students of EES are also students of the foreign universities. This means that after two or three years of study in Greece, these students may go to the town or city where the university is located, to complete their studies and obtain a degree. Most of the co-operations are with universities in Britain and the United States, but some are with universities of France, Germany, and Switzerland. Since the MoE is not involved in this kind of education, there is no formal recognition of their degrees (OECD 1997).
