I was wondering if anyone could tell me the translation of Greek letters

Xi Chi Upsilon (-possibly Gamma?)  Omicron Eta Epsilon Rho

(all one word: I just joined and am not sure how to change the text to Greek)

found on a silver ring from the Byzantine Empire (~700 AD). Any ideas? I've had no luck so far...

Tiny letters engraved on small metal objects from the Byzantine period can be damned difficult to read.  It's conceivable to me that the first six letters read EYNOHΣ ("belonging to Eunoë").  Eunoë (root meaning: "kindly") is the name of a nymph in Greek mythology, and probably of a number of humans as well.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euno%C3%AB.
The name must have persisted through the Middle Ages, for it shows up as the name of a river (in Canto 33.125-145 of the Purgatorio) from which Dante drinks in order to be reborn and ready to enter Paradise.
