Amanda Marshall (born August 29, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian pop-rock singer.

Marshall studied music extensively during her childhood, including at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. While performing on the Queen Street West bar scene in her teens, she met guitarist Jeff Healey, who was struck by her powerful voice and took her on tour. She was offered a record deal by Columbia Records in 1991, but chose to wait a few years before releasing her debut album.

She grew up in Toronto in a biracial family to a Caucasian father and a Black mother. In several of her songs, Marshall has reflected on her racial identity "as a woman who looks white but is also half-black".

In 1995, Marshall signed to Sony Records, and released her debut album Amanda Marshall the same year. The album was a major success in Canada, generating a great deal of airplay and spawning six Top 40 hits -- "Let It Rain," "Beautiful Goodbye," "Dark Horse," "Fall From Grace," "Sitting on Top of the World," and "Birmingham," which remains her biggest hit internationally.

Amanda Marshall - Beautiful Goodbye

Fed up with my destiny and this place of no return
Think I'll take another day and slowly watch it burn
It doesn't really matter how the time goes by
Cause I still remember you and I
And that beautiful goodbye

We staggered through these empty streets laughing arm in arm
The night had made a mess of me your confessions kept me warm
And I don't really miss you I just need to know
Do you ever think of you and I
And that beautiful goodbye

When I see you now I wonder how
I could've watched you walk away
If I let you down please forgive me now
For that beautiful goodbye

In these days of no regrets I keep mine to myself
And all the things we never said I can say for someone else
And nothing last forever but we always try
And I just can't help but wonder why
We let it pass us by

When I see you now I wonder how
I could've watched you walk away
If I let you down please forgive me now
For that beautiful goodbye

Baby what can I do
Oh to get through to you
And sometimes I cry
It's a fool's lullaby
Sometime's I cry
It's just a fool's lullaby
I'm dying inside
Hey
There is no prosthetic for an amputated spirit
