non omnium est virorum Corinthum navigatio –> it's not for every man to make a journey to CorinthCf. Horace,
Epistles 1.17.36. The proverb is a translation of the old Greek adage, οὐ παντὸς ἀνδρὸς ἐς Κόρινθον ἔσθ' ὁ πλοῦς, which referred to the great expense of a self-indulgent life at Corinth, a seaport abounding in ladies of flexible virtue.
