Title: Articles "a" and "the" in Greek
Post by: joykt on 24 Aug, 2005, 14:57:18
Does Greek use articles such as "a" and "the" or are those put in there only by the English translators? Is it at the translators discretion or are there rules to when "a" or "the" should be used?

Thanks,
Joy
(obviously someone who knows nothing of Greek!)

Hello joykt, welcome to the forum

Greek does have articles, both definite ο /o/, η /i/, το /to/ (like 'the') and indefinite ένας /enas/, μια /mia/, ένα /ena/ (like 'a').
