Italian and Greek interlingual homophones
gomena in Italian means hawser (παλαμάρι) and in Greek γκόμενα means girlfriend, piece of ass

Gómena è il termine nautico con cui si indica una cima, di adeguata sezione, destinata all'ormeggio delle imbarcazioni. È anche un'unità di misura (in inglese, cable) che corrisponde a 1/10 di miglio nautico, cioè a 185 m. La gomena è un cavo torticcio di canapa a grande sezione. Nella marineria moderna è stata sostituita dai cavi sintetici molto più economici e di pari prestazioni se non superiori, che prendono il nome dall'uso che se ne fa esempio: cavo di ormeggio, cavo di rimorchio, di tonneggio, ecc.

Ουσιαστικά είναι η ίδια λέξη: gomena = παλαμάρι, δηλαδή σχοινί με θηλειά στην άκρη. Η "θηλειά" τι ακριβώς είναι; Μα, η "θήλεια", φυσικά, η θηλυκιά δηλαδή, η γκόμενα (ή γκόμινα) που λένε και οι... σεξισταί. Θυμηθείτε και τα βύσματα που οι μαστόροι διακρίνουν σε αρσενικά (στενόμακρα, που μπαίνουν στο "θηλυκό" βύσμα) και σε θηλυκά (με τρύπα, μέσα οποία μπαίνει το "αρσενικό" βύσμα). Τώρα, το gomena, που είναι βενετσιάνικη ναυτική λέξη, μάλλον προέρχεται από το αγγλικό woman (για την αντιστοιχία w > g πβ. γοτθικό wardjan > ιταλικό guardare κ.λπ.).

A poustinia (Russian: пустынь) is a small sparsely furnished cabin or room where one goes to pray and fast alone in the presence of God. The word poustinia has its origin in the Russian word for desert (пустыня). One called to live permanently in a poustinia is called a poustinik (plural: poustiniki).

Από τη στιγμή που υπάρχει παλαιότερος τύπος cumina, αυτό αποκλείει τη σύνδεση με το αγγλικό woman. Από τις ετυμολογίες που βλέπω εκεί, φωνολογικά και σημασιολογικά πειστική είναι μόνο εκείνη που ανάγη τη λέξη στο λατ. acumina (πληθ. του acumen). Τα άλλα περί "καμήλου" κ.λπ. φαίνονται παρατραβηγμένα.

Hell as (English) - Hellas (another name for Greece)
vaak (means often in Dutch) - fuck (in English)
pagina (means page in Dutch) - πάχυνα (I have put on weight in Greek)
makelaar (μάκελαρ means estate agent in Dutch) - μακελάρης (killer in Greek)

Ναι, γι' αυτό τον ανέφερα τον μακελάρη χαχα! Επίσης έχει πλάκα με τις προφορές των ίδιων λέξεων σε διαφορετικές γλώσσες π.χ το Γιόγκα προφέρεται ως γιόχα (με παχύ "χ") στα ολλανδικά.

Συνεχίζουμε επί του θέματος:
glitches (in English) - γκλίτσις (rural Greek for shepherd's crooks in English).
Example: άσε τις γκλίτσις όξω απ'το μαντρί → leave the crooks outside before entering the sheepfold.
