Yes, I see, probably a modern Orthodox interpretation, not quite in harmony with Paul's original vision of the church, with Jesus as the foundation and us ourselves as the builders or the building-blocks, e.g. 1 Corinthians 3:10f. ἕκαστος δὲ βλεπέτω πῶς ἐποικοδομεῖ· θεμέλιον γὰρ ἄλλον οὐδεὶς δύναται θεῖναι παρὰ τὸν κείμενον, ὅς ἐστιν Ἰησοῦς Χριστός — "With the grace of God given to me, like a skilled architect I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it; let each one see to how each one builds. For no one is able to lay a foundation beside the one already laid, which is Jesus the anointed King." Or Romans 12:4f. Kαθάπερ γὰρ ἐν ἑνὶ σώματι πολλὰ μέλη ἔχομεν, τὰ δὲ μέλη πάντα οὐ τὴν αὐτὴν ἔχει πρᾶξιν, οὕτως οἱ πολλοὶ ἓν σῶμά ἐσμεν ἐν Χριστῷ, τὸ δὲ καθ' εἷς ἀλλήλων μέλη — "As we have many members in our one body, and the members do not all have the same activity, so we, though many, are one body in the Messiah King, and are members, individually, of each other."
