I'm searching for a proper way to translate "let someone fall down".
Any ideas?

Some ideas: let fall = ἀφιέναι, μεθιέναι, ἐκβάλλειν, παριέναι, κλίνειν

Τότε ἀπέκοψαν οἱ στρατιῶται τὰ σχοινία τῆς σκάφης καὶ εἴασαν αὐτὴν ἐκπεσεῖν → Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off

εἴασαν  = ἐάω - Ancient Greek (LSJ)

Ἦ μεθήσετ᾽, ὦ κακαί, γραῖαν πεσοῦσαν; → Will you let her fall, you worthless slaves?

μεθήσετ' = μεθίημι - Ancient Greek (LSJ)

ἵεις σαυτὸν κατὰ τοῦ τείχους — let yourself fall down from the wall

I feel that μεθιέναι just like ἀφιέναι, ἐκβάλλειν and παριέναι mean "let fall" in a figurative meaning like "abandon".
I can't see clearly yet if there are examples where it's literally about falling on the ground.

What form is μεθήσετ exactly? I can't figure it out myself and can't rule out that the sentence you've found conveys a figurative meaning too.

I think that I'll may have to do something with ἐάω and maybe ὀλισθαίνω ?

μεθιέναι/μεθίημι - Ancient Greek (LSJ) is quite literal: let go, let fall, throw, τι ἐς ποταμόν ....  ἄγκυραν μεθιέναι

ἐκπίπτω → fall out of, fall down, of trees
ἐκπίπτω - Ancient Greek (LSJ)

ὀλισθαίνω - Ancient Greek (LSJ) is slip and can be used metaphorically.

μεθίημι did sound quite figuratively in my German Gemoll.
I somehow thought it would come from some form of εἰμί which of course was a pure brain fart. ἳημι is indeed quite clear!
