Kenneth Gorelick (born June 5, 1956), better known by his stage name
Kenny G, is a Grammy winning American saxophonist. His fourth album,
Duotones, brought him breakthrough success in 1986. Kenny's main instrument is the soprano saxophone, but he also on occasion plays alto and tenor saxophone and flute.
He has released many solo albums and collaborated with various artists including Andrea Bocelli, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Natalie Cole, Steve Miller (which marked the only time he appeared on a rock and roll album), Dudley Moore, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin. Influenced by the likes of saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr. and the lyricism of Barry Manilow, his own albums are usually classified as smooth jazz.
"
Forever in Love" is the title of an instrumental song by saxophone player Kenny G that was released as a single in 1993. The song appears on Kenny G's album
Breathless, and he both wrote and produced the song.
It peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #18 and spent two weeks at #1 on the adult contemporary chart. The song also reached #47 on the UK Singles Chart. In addition, the song won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition at the 1994 ceremony. Along with "Songbird", "Forever in Love" is one of Kenny G's most popular and recognizable instrumental recordings.
