This is the motto to my chapter of Beta Theta Pi. I know it is similar to our school motto, "Not unto ourselves alone are we born," and saw the translation at one point, but have forgotten.
I believe this is Ancient Greek, if not, I appologize.
Also, I'm not sure about the "ζ." In the picture, it looks reversed, but it was the closest letter I could find.

My guess is that this should read Γιγνόμεθα Συμβοηθείᾳ. which might mean something like "We come to be through mutual assistance." i.e., "We exist to help each other."

Υes, that's just as I thought: there's the missing eta, and the iota subscript under the final alpha. The only anomaly in the written version you show is that the second gamma is left out of Γιγνόμεθα; whoever wrote it must have been Greek, and lapsed into modern Greek just for that word. Cool.
Οr, conceivably, it's a motto from Ηellenistic or Byzantine times, when it became more and more common to write the word without the second gamma.
Pronunciation: Gih-no-meh-thah seem-vo-ee-thee-ah.
Accented syllables in bold type.
"Th" as in "therapy."
