The word γόνατον is not the ancient one. The ancient is το γόνυ. Γόνατον is the word for the knee in the oratorial speach, the so called katharevousa, a form of formal greek, something between the ancient and the popular greek. The word in dimotiki is γόνατο.

There is a possibility that Elena is right and δεσμός is what you are asking to be translated. You must give the context. In case δασμός is the word you can add tariff as well.
