Hi there.

You are right not be sure - you see everything that is incomprehensible is not necessarily Greek  :)

It must some Eastern Asian language but I cannot tell you which one, since my PC cannot read the font either, or I can't guess it. Why don't you ask the person you were chatting with, what language this is?

I would not be naive enough to start a thread if I did not have reason to believe that this is greek.

The person whom I was chatting with led me to believe that this was greek.

Please! If anyone has any idea what this means please inform me!

This is displayed as gobbledygook and not like Greek. I would appreciated it if you could understand this. Thank you!

I see that this of course not greek.

I did a google search and keyed the above 'phrase' and got this address:

http://odp.webwombat.com.au/WW32750.HTM

Apparently they also used similar-looking characters on that webpage.

What they "use" is Greek characters which were distorted in the process of html conversion - no longer appearing as Greek under ANY character set. The fact that somebody calls something "Greek" (especially if they are not Greek)  does not necessarily mean that it is Greek.

In the case of your google results it is indeed Greek text in some cases when you change the encoding to UTF-8. Unfortunately this trick did not work with your text because the language information has been lost in the conversion. So I am sorry, but we cannot help you.

thanks

I thought so. Although in this context I am sure that the poster intended to make me believe that this was, in fact, greek. I do not think that she used greek as the epitome of a foreign language.
