Epsilon symbol with greek text (graphic)
« on: 10 Nov, 2005, 18:10:04 »
In advance, thank you so much for your time.

I was hopeful that someone could tell me what the text on this graphic says and what the symbol means: http://www.rassias.gr/Epsilon.jpg

I have found it on the following pages:
http://www.rassias.gr/9008.html
http://ethnikoi.org/omadaE.html

I truly appreciate any help!
Thanks!!!!
Jessica

The Epsilons and the Epsilon Team are some kind of modernistic mythology on the fringes of the Greek web. The Epsilons are the Greek Gods, supposed to have come from Sirius-E, the real homeland of the Greeks. The Epsilon team were the priests who survived the war between the Greeks and the people of Atlantis and moved to Greece bringing along their superb technology, blah blah, blah blah.

OK, I'm not sure I know the details of what they believe in, but there is another group of people who oppose them (probably because they want to preserve their own set of myths) and they have created this logo which is an imitation of the logo used by the Epsilon believers and the 'En touto nika' sign (translated in Latin into 'In Hoc Signo Vinces' and in English into "In this sign, i.e. the cross, you shall conquer." See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Hoc_Signo_Vinces). (As a matter of fact, I have a similar sign outside the door of my study, saying 'En touto Nikos', Nick is in here.)

This takeoff uses the letter Epsilon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsilon_%28letter%29) and the lettering reads 'In this you shall deceive'.

Frankly, I believe all these people belong to the Epsilons as described by Aldous Huxley in his Brave New World...

Thanks very much for your response!  I was totally clueless.  This logo reminds me a lot of the Discordian logo, the Five Fingered Hand of Eris, as described in the Principia Discordia, and I was wondering if the two had anything in common.

You time is much appreicated!  Have a great day!!!

(ps: I'm going to take the embedded graphic out of the post above since it's not on my bandwidth! :)
