SDL Studio does not support anymore import of its proprietary txt memory format - WinAlign issues

So, if you have, say aligned documents with WinAlign, you will have to import them to a TM and then export them as tmx.
Funnily enough, the latest WinAlign version, has as a default the txt export! The option to have the export as tmx is well hidden.

To remedy this, in the "New WinAlign Project" dialog (the one in which a new alignment project is created) click on the "Export" tab and in the group field Format select the "Translation Memory Exchange Format" radio button.

Sadly, the selection is not remembered, so if you create a new project, you have to remember to reapply it.

So the full procedure for WinAlign files:

— Import your WinAlign project into Workbench
— Export this TM from Workbench into TMX
— Open your existing TM in SDL Studio and import the TMX into it.
