Is "relative to nature" a good translation of peri tes pros ten physin hupostaseos?
For about the existence relative to nature (peri tes pros ten physin hupostaseos) of the things good and bad.

Ηi there.

Please always give us more context from the source text. Otherwise, it is very difficult to decide on the quality of translation. Also, tell us about the author and the work including this quote.

Thanks in advance.

peri tes pros ten physin hupostaseos, i.e. peri tes hupostaseos = on (=about) existence, pros ten physin = towards nature, relative to nature

However, I am not familiar with hupostasis combined with peri, so neither the Greek nor the English makes sense to me.

The work is from Against the Ethicists by Sextus Empircus

The complete phrase in Sextus Empiricus' Against the Ethicists is:

περί μεν γαρ της προς την φύσιν υποστάσεως των τε αγαθών και κακών και ουδετέρων ικανοί πως εισιν ημίν αγώνες προς τους δογματικούς

I understand it as follows:

about what is by nature good, bad and neutral (about the true nature of good, bad and neutral), we have fought many a fight against the dogmatics.
