Following our item on sad-sounding music, you sent us over 400 nominations for your saddest song or piece of music. We'd like you to vote from the five most-nominated pieces below for which you think is the saddest listen. Some of the other entries which didn't make our top five and are not part of this vote included numbers such as Rolf Harris' "Two little boys", "Bright Eyes" from the film "Watership Down", and Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven."  1) Dido's Lament "When I am laid in earth" from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, sung in this version by Josephine Veasey and performed by the John Alldis Choir.

 2) Barber's Adagio for Strings, played by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andre Previn.
 3) Mahler's Symphony No. 5, 4th movement (Adagietto), performed by the Danish National Radio Orchestra, conducted by Leif Segerstam.

 4) Gloomy Sunday sung by Billie Holiday, the original version written by the Hungarian pianist and composer Rezsô Seress.

 5) Richard Strauss' Metamorphosen, performed by the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Christoph von Dohnanyi.
