The word does not exist in Greek.  Odent must mean ἐπιλοίμια, "incantations against plague," which however are only mentioned by Pollux (2nd cent. CE), not by Homer. Anyone who has read the Iliad knows that the Greeks put a stop to the plague not through incantations (which in Homer would be ἐπαοιδαί / ἐπῳδαί), but through sacrifice to Apollo and propitiation of his priest Chryses, whose captured daughter they returned.

Ευχαριστώ!! Είναι τελικά συχνό να γράφονται αναφορές σε Ελληνικές λέξεις από ξένους και αφού κανείς σχεδόν δεν ξέρει τη σημασία τους, γίνονται αποδεκτές έτσι. Το παραπάνω κείμενο το μεταφράζει μια γυναίκα από την Τουρκία και μου ζήτησε να της πω τι ακριβώς σημαίνει η λέξη στα Ελληνικά. Τον συγγραφέα τον γνωρίζω προσωπικά. Να του πω πως δεν υπάρχει; Πού το βρήκε άραγε;;
