This is more likely to be Cherokee than Greek.

thanks, but the Cherokee didn't cast brass.  the closest alphabet i could find was greek. 
not hebrew.
not crylic.
not hindi.
any suggestions?

My reply about Cherokee was a little tongue in cheek, though there were great similarities. Let me guess then: what you have in your picture is a brass item from the East Mediterranean?
