ἆρά γε; -> does it, is it

ἆρά γε; -> does it? is it? etc.  The particle ἆρα introduces a "yes" or "no" question.  The particle γε ("in effect," "in particular," "in any case," "in any event") would usually be rendered in English by a simple vocal gesture (change of tone or stress), or, in writing, by italics ("does it?", "is it?," etc.).
