Λέρνη θεατῶν -> theatre, theater
Literally, "a Lerna (i.e. a swamp) of spectators" — metaphor for the theater, from Cratinus, a comic poet of the 5th century BCE, who showed no respect for his audience.  Lerna was a swampy region where Heracles slew the monstrous Hydra;  it was often synonymous with a polluted morass, a cesspool.
