What a beautiful word is "δνοφερός". I was only aware of the Modern Greek "ζοφερός", "γνοφερός".

Βeekes, Etymological Dictionary of Greek, s.v. δνόφος "darkness" (Simonides): "... VAR In Hellenistic times γνόφος, etc. ... the group δv- seems to point to Pre-Greek origin."

Indeed, I know no Modern Greek words starting with that cluster (apart from Δνείπερος, Δνείστερος which are non-Greek river names anyway). With Ancient Greek I can find:

δνοπαλίζω
δνοπάλιξις
δνοφέος
δνοφερός
δνοφερώδης
δνοφόεις
δνόφος
δνοφώδης
δνοψ
