I have been searching for the word connected to the number 333.  A google search for Strongs 333 brings up this word:  ἀναθεωρέω
But then inputting ἀναθεωρέω in ANY dictionary, including the Complete Word Study Dictionary, yields zero results.  Why can I not find this word anywhere, except for Strongs?  Why would it be in Strongs if it is not in the bible?  If it is in the bible, why can I not find it in Spiros?

Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

  • Words ail me.
The verb ἀναθεωρέω is not modern Greek, but ancient.  It is attested in Theophrastus (ca. 300 BCE) and Diodorus Siculus (ca. 50 BCE)  See the entry in Liddell-Scott-Jones Greek Lexicon:
ἀναθεωρέω,
examine carefully, Thphr.HP8.6.2, D.S.12.15(Pass.); consider a second time, Thphr.HP1.5.1.examine carefully, Thphr.HP8.6.2, D.S.12.15(Pass.); consider a second time, Thphr.HP1.5.1.

That is the Strongs 333 definition. So, just to confirm, the Strong's 333 entry is correct after all then?

Spiros Complete Word Study, I get the following:  (333), to recall elsewhere.
