ἀλλὰ τί ἦ μοι ταῦτα περὶ δρῦν ἢ περὶ πέτρην -> why all this about trees and rocks, why all these things we have nothing to do with
Hesiod, Theogony 35.  Nobody's quite sure what "the oak and the rock" were to the poet, but the expression seems to have been, back in ca. 800 BCE, the proverbial way of saying "but I digress."
